Artists and Engravers: Georg Balthasar Probst (1732 - 1801) was a German artist, engraver and publisher in Augsburg, a major European publishing center in the 17th and 18th centuries. He produced architectural views of places around the world, including vues d'optique, which were published in various places during the last half of the 18th century, including Paris, Augsburg and London.

Subject: Antique print no. 194, titled: 'Attolens autem Ioseph oculos'. Optical print, showing a Bible passage from Genesis 43:29: "And he lifted up his eyes and saw his brother Benjamin". It shows the meeting of Joseph and his brother Benjamin, with a group of farmers.
Condition: Good, given age. Creases in the top right margin corner, margins thumbed and stained form handling. General age-related toning. Please study scan carefully.
