HEAVY ARTILLERY LASER

Item is in excellent condition, Nothing has been glued, painted, jimmy-rigged or made to appear other than what it is. I have cleaned this top to bottom and inside and out. The sticker placement still looks great - applied with care in all the right places.

The brown computer piece fits snug, the front folding leg stabilizer is present and folds up well and stays put. Both rear tow hooks are intact. HAL still rotates up and down well- the "teethe" are still tight and functional and mostly stay in place - I added a little teflon tape on the top of the teethe to help out. The wheels are still in great shape and roll fine.

The H.A.L. (Heavy Artillery Laser) cannon is a mobile-ready weapons platform. One blast from the H.A.L. can obliterate a tank. Despite that immense power, it is designed to be light enough to be easily towed by even a VAMP

The H.A.L. features twin laser cannons. Normally, lasers would cause the turrets to become too hot that would render them inoperable. Advanced heat dampeners allow the H.A.L. to be operable for several firings. The laser cannons are usable for 30-hour cycles. A state-of-the-art computer system and synchronizers enable it to make every shot count.

Due to the nature of laser weaponry, the H.A.L. cannot be fired while it is mobile; this would prevent it from applying enough energy to a singular target in order to damage / destroy it. As such, the H.A.L. must be disconnected from whatever is towing it and set up properly before being used.

The weapon itself is an Incredible laser, inflicting like Armor Piercing Energy damage per blast. It is possessed of sensitive laser generating electronics and The H.A.L. is enhanced by the following features:

CRT Sighting and Targeting Computer: this electronic console allows the H.A.L.'s operator to acquire his target with ease, increasing his ability to hit an opponent.

Gear Cases: the H.A.L. has various kits tacked onto it, should some sort of emergency arise. For instance, it has a fully stocked tool kit, and likely has a small compartment full of field-replaceable components for the sensitive electronics used to both acquire and destroy targets.

Stabilizer Legs: the H.A.L. is fully equipped with hydraulic stabilizer legs, enabling it to be utilized in almost any terrain, assuming that solid ground is handy. Deepest desert, darkest jungle, or iciest tundra - it makes no difference, as the H.A.L. can fire the same in any of these terrains.

He has good joints, little paint and play wear, some on his face, New O-ring and no screw rust.

Appearance: brown hair; dark-green shirt with silver red-padded vest; black gloves; dark green belt and red-padded pants over black boots.

Accessories: original dark green Breaker helmet; custom aftermarket clear visor. I have also included a silver Major Bludd style rocket gun, a silver Zarana backpack. The four 1991 IMPEL cards #50 & #58 are mint, the vintage game card is in very good condition and all are great for display. The figure stand pictured is included.

Grand Slam received initial training in conventional artillery and served with a 155mm battery. Graduated: Special Weapons School (Top of Class). Specialized Education: Artillery School; Advanced Tech School. Qualified Expert: M-16; M-1911A1; "HAL" Heavy Artillery Laser.

James was a kid fascinated, obsessed even, with comic books and science fiction. This naturally led him to drool over high tech gear of all kinds, and he grew up to become an electronics engineer. Joining up with the Army soon after, he quickly got involved with their advanced weaponry. He went through both Special Weapons and Advanced Technology schools, and with his true love for technology, he managed to graduate at the top of his class in both. This drew the attentions of one Colonel Hawk, who was at the time assembling an elite force to serve on an anti-terrorist team.

This team was Gi Joe.

In the capacity of a laser artillery trooper, it was James' duty to utilize the H.A.L. - a heavy assault laser - on Joe missions that needed an incredible amount of firepower. He used it on several missions, including the Joes' rescue of Doctor Adele Burkhart, during which he used the H.A.L. to destroy Cobra tanks. On another mission, James found himself in conflict with the would-be poet, Major Bludd, when the villain hijacked a bus to flee the Joes. Riding up on a R.A.M. cycle with Stalker, he smashed his way through the bus' windshield, and pummeled Bludd unconscious - a lot. Soon after this, James was taken off active duty, along with several other original Joes, in order to allow the team to perform its own administration; in other words, he was given a desk job. Of course, James used this opportunity to get involved in the development of the Joes' new high tech gear.

During one such test, of the new S.L.A.M. - Strategic Long-range Assault Machine - James and several other mobilized Joes were attacked by Raptor, an insane Cobra hawk-master, and Cobra Commander himself, wearing his battle armor and wielding a freakish Pogo assault pod. Still later, James was assigned to the training of prospective Joes. During an exercise for new trainees Budo, Repeater and Lightfoot, James wound up getting seriously injured, but his students managed to finish the operation without his help, thus proving their worth.

James' final assignment was to the security of the new, third Pit, the Joes secret headquarters in Utah, and he helped to repel an invasion attempt by Cobra Commander during this time. He filled this role until the Joe team was disbanded back in '94.
