This listing is for a Large Metal sturdy T/inverted V shaped Saddle type Doll stand. Originally used for heavy porcelain doll bodies when purchased. No longer being made and very hard to find now.

 Made by a company called MINI WORLD that sold doll maker supplies, which is no longer in business, this item is near impossible to find. Unlike typical saddle stands it has a bit more of a grabbing area than just a T shape and it is curved.

I show the stand holding two different antique dolls for reference only. The first is a Handwerck composition body only that measures 18" from neck to sole of foot. The measurement from crotch to foot is 9 1/2" so I think if the legs were an inch or two longer the doll's feet would sit flat.  You can see the legs are a little short for the stand and feet don't sit flat. The sturdiness of the stand holds the doll up no problem. 

I also show an SFBJ French toddler doll on the stand. She is 25" tall. This is both cases where the saddle part/body holder piece rubber coated Vs are at lowest point, not raised. I would actually use it even if the feet were 'floating, as you can see the SFBJ looks fine and the stand is nicely hidden under her layers of clothing.

Last photo shows the REVALO doll in my store, using this stand. She is 26" tall and you can see the length suits her foot to crotch height so her feet stand flat on the base of the stand. It is sturdy enough to hold her up. 

If you measure from that point to base, I would say a doll with leg length from crotch to bottom of foot  of around 10 or 11" would be ideal but not necessary.

I  tried it  with a top heavy Large 32"  Chinahead doll and it is not strong enough to keep her upright, the weight of the shoulder head tilts sideways so you need a waist grabbing stand to be safe with these dolls. Even my smaller china head was too top heavy.

This has a nice wide 7" base.

Height to top of the grasping hardware, which is below a doll's waist, the rubber coated extending bar is 12" above the base.

Height with top piece extended to safest height is 16"
