Made in the 1990s strictly for the Japan Domestic market which is the only reason they were allowed to use the classic Gibson headstock shape. Super rare flame maple LPS-90 model. Long tenon. This was the top of the Les Paul line in this series with solid mahogany body/neck and flame maple top. I’ve owned this one for ten years. I have never seen another LPS-90 with such a perfect top. There three models in the Les Paul Standard line, the LPS-80 (plain maple top), the LPS-85F (photo flamed maple top) and this LPS-90. One important point to notice with the LPC-90 is the fact there was no pick guard installed on this model, no screw holes ever drilled. This guitar is a monster with an excellent vintage broke-in feel to it. It frets like a dream. Acoustically, it is loud and resonant. Perfect weight for a Les Paul Standard at 9 lbs 1 oz. A newer genuine Gibson R9 ‘59 reissue case is included and really sets off that original 59 burst appearance.
