An old porcelain with that nice oxidized feeling to the glaze, and the cobalt underglaze is a nice smoky blue.

A round tapering porcelain bottle with a tall neck and small mouth opening that has been painted in nice smoky cobalt in a design of a peony bush on one side. The back has no design. The white body glaze has a nice bluish tint. The glaze feels smooth, soft, slick and looks shiny. The lid is just button with cork and red tinted bone spoon. The top part of the lid is missing. The bottle is hand potted as you can see the potter’s wheel marks under the glaze. The unglazed foot ring is cut sharply

There is the word CHINA etched on the base. You can barely see it.

MEASUREMENTS
2 ¾” (7.0 cm) tall x 1 ½” (3.8 cm) diameter, Weighs 2.1 oz (60 g)

CONDITION
There are no chips, cracks, or breaks. The bottle looks fresh and bright. There are slight wear scratches on the body. There is a rough spot on the foot but I think this is from manufacture. As mentioned above, the top part of the lid is missing.

A well-made and painted snuff bottle to add to your collection. The shape is so elegant and refined.
