This large hand painted iron dial comes from a 18th century longcase/grandfather clock. It dates from around 1795 to 1825. Dating source: Painted Clocks 1770-1870 by Brian Loomes. Published 1994.

A lovely, vibrant geometric style dial As you can see there is some minor overall deterioration to the finish, some pitting and some wear.  Overall the decorative paintwork is in jolly good order. The calendar wheel is secure, but due to its age, moved more freely that usual. Fitted with new, period style hands.

33 x 33 x 4cm

Fitted with a high quality battery quartz mechanism that is fully guaranteed for twelve months. Requires one AA battery which is supplied with the clock.
