ITEM DESCRIPTION

Today we are pleased to offer this nicely preserved volume by Washington Irving!

A great find from a local New England estate!

This scarce antique volume is over 188 years old!

Ex-library.

In nice condition overall!  Later binding with cloth spine shows some wear, including a library sticker pasted to the front board, rubbing and soiling to the boards and spine, chipping to the paper title label affixed to the spine, general wear around the extremities including bumping to the corners, and some rubbing and soiling to the page edges.  Volume is also slightly cocked.  Otherwise this is an attractive, well-preserved antique volume!

Internally, this volume is in good shape overall.  Both boards and all page groupings remain firmly attached to the binding.  This is an ex-library volume with bookplates and library markings visible to the front and rear endpapers and fly pages, as well as the title page and copyright page.  Otherwise this volume is clean and free from signatures and inscriptions.

The text block of this volume is clean overall.  There is just typical age-related toning to the pages, as well as some light foxing and soiling scattered throughout, and general light edge wear and corner creasing, but otherwise this volume is clean and free from rips, tears, writing and markings.  Perfectly readable throughout!

Make sure to see the photos above and the additional photos in the description below for complete details.
