Very nice pair of 1920s Baseball themed stand up Valentine Cards made in Germany.
One shows a boy boxing and reads "MY VALENTINE I'm sure to win ghte game, my dear, If you'll encourage me, If you're my team-mate, never fear, A champion I'll be". It is a motion card with both arms and one leg moving. There is a folding tab on the back to stand. It measures about 8 1/4" high and 5 1/4" across. Marked on the front "PRINTED IN GERMANY" Marked in ink on the back.
The other is an embossed card showing a girl punching her catcher's mitt standing behind home plate and reads "How about Me for your Valentine. I'm considered a good catch". Measures about 8 1/2" high and 3 7/8" across. There is a folding tab on the back to stand. Marked on the front "Made in Germany". Marked in pencil on the back.
Great original condition showing some wear, creasing, and rub. Some edge dings on both as shown, the wrist of the boy's hand holding the ball is heavily creased but still intact. There is a small tight tear and edge damage above the bat, and part of the brim edge of the girl's hat is missing. Please see all pictures for the EXACT condition of what you will receive.
Will make a nice addition to your collection.
