Product Introduction
Tamiya 1/35 Military Miniatures Series No. 353 German IV Assault Tank Blum Bear Late Type.

Destroy enemy bases with massive firepower!
The German Army's No. IV Assault Tank Blum Bear was developed to provide firepower support for infantry during World War II.
Based on the body of the No. IV tank, it has a large fighting compartment with 100 mm front and 50 mm side armour and is equipped with a powerful short-barrel 15 cm howitzer.
The howitzer had a range of 5,000 m and its moulded explosive shell could penetrate armour plates 160 mm thick inclined at 30°.
Of the three types of Blumbeer developed - the early, middle and late types - the late type was the largest of each type, with approximately 160 vehicles produced from May 1944 to March 1945, near the end of the war.
The layout was redesigned to incorporate the lessons of the war, with a forward machine gun for defence and a cupola for the vehicle commander, and the fighting compartment was also enlarged in volume.
To cope with the heavy weight, the rolling wheels were partially replaced by steel rolling wheels without rubber rims.
Deployed in assault tank battalions formed entirely of Blumbehrs, the Late Type was effective in attacking enemy positions and fortified urban areas on both the Eastern and Western fronts, as well as on the Italian front.
