Product introduction
Tamiya 1/35 MM German heavy anti-tank self-propelled artillery Nathorn.

The most powerful anti-tank self-propelled gun with 8.8cm gun
The strongest class of anti-tank gun during World War II, the German heavy self-propelled gun with 71 calibre 8.8cm Pak43/1 is the Nathorn.
At the beginning of the war between Germany and the Soviet Union, the Germans were surprised by unexpectedly powerful Soviet tanks such as the T34 and KV-1, and while they rushed to significantly strengthen their tanks, they also built many vehicles with self-propelled anti-tank guns as an emergency measure.
The Nathorn was one of these, with a long-barreled 8.8cm gun mounted on a dedicated self-propelled gun carriage of the No. III and No. IV tank series, which had just been developed at the time.
It boasted a powerful offensive capability that could destroy any Allied tank from outside its range.
It also had a combat weight of 24 tonnes and a maximum speed of 42 km/h on the road.
When first fielded in July 1943, it was called the Hornisse, but was renamed the Nathorn on Hitler's orders at the end of January 1944 and 439 were produced by March 1945.
The Nathorn continued to fight on both the Eastern and Western fronts as an important force in German tank destroyer units until the end of the war.
