This is a C57 1st class steam locomotive, a finished N gauge vehicle from Kato.


  • Based on the No. 95 belonging to the Bantan Line's Toyooka engine depot around 1966 (Showa 41), the smoke collector, fuel oil combustion tank and turning window are not equipped, and the deflector is a type without an inspection window.
  • The unique proportions of the C57, which was called the lady of the house, are reproduced with rich expression. Reproduce the fluidity of express passenger aircraft.
  • Power unit with coreless motor with a reputation for running. Flywheel mounted for smooth and stable running.
  • Front headlight illuminated. Dummy lights on tender.
  • Spoke-removed leading and trailing wheels for undercarriage detail.
  • Arnold couplers standard on tender. Replacement knuckle couplers, heavy-duty couplers and heavy-duty knuckle couplers included.

    The C57 began production in 1937 (Showa 12) as a semi-transit passenger traction machine, a total of 201 cars were mass produced.
    The C57 is highly popular for its smart styling and highly finished appearance, and is nicknamed "the lady" due to its elegant impression.
    The C57 is an ideal traction machine for all scenes on SL trains.
    During its working life, it was seen pulling express trains with long passenger coaches, slow trains with standard passenger coaches and also pulling goods trains, and can be enjoyed in various configurations in models.
    Another fun way to enjoy the model is to reproduce the powerful triple train operation of the Bantan Line, with a series of locomotives on the Bantan Line.
