The hammerhead that won the Monaco GP
The Tyrrell team entered Formula 1 racing in 1968, using a Matra Ford as their team car, and as early as the following year, Jackie Stewart won the championship.
In 1971, the first year of full competition with the original car, a 003 for J.Stewart and a 002 for second driver François Cevert were completed. The car was completed.
The car had a peculiar form, with the nose and front wing integrated flat and the radiator underneath, while orthodox mechanics ensured a high level of reliability.
J.Stewart won six of the eleven races that year, including the pole-to-finish Monaco Grand Prix, and was crowned champion for the second time, also bringing home the team title.
The Monaco GP version of the Tyrrell 003, known as the 'Hammerhead' because of its unique shape, has been brought back to life in 1/12th scale.
