Born in Wilmington, Delaware and studied at the Wilmington Academy of Art. Later she majored in Advertising Design at the Philadelphia School of Industrial of Design, now known as the Philadelphia College of Art. For many years she worked as an oil painter, but in 1978 she moved to Florida and switched from oil painting to watercolor. She has attended workshops under many instructors including Valfred Thelin, Frank Webb, Barbara Nechis, Carol Barns, Carrie Brown, Pat Deadman, Gerald Brommer, Morris Shubin, Don Carmichael, Tony Van Hasslet, and Catherine Chang Liu. She has taught at Wesleyan College in Southwest Florida, Port Charlotte Cultural Center, The Charlotte County Art Guild, and the Back Porch Artists. She Co-authored Watercolor-Let The Medium Do It, with Valfred Thelin. She was a participating member of the Florida Watercolor Society, the Georgia Watercolor Society, and the Florida Suncoast Watercolor Society. She is a member of the Manatee Art Association, the Brandon Art Association, and The Long Boat Key Art Association. She is a member of Women Creative Artists.

She has participated in many invitational shows, including the Ft Myers Art Association, The Punta Gorda Art Association, the St. Petersburg Art Association, the Moss Gallery, Port Charlotte, the Ft Myers Airport, in 1996 and 97. Sneider Gallery in Ft Myers, and the Arts and Humanity Council of Charlotte County, and the John Germaine library, Tampa. She has also had work shown in the State Senate Bldg in Tallahassee, Florida.

Her awards throughout Florida, at the Venice Art League, The Moss Gallery, Port Charlotte, The Visual Art Center, Punta Gorda, The Lehigh Acres Art Association, Ridge Art Association, Winter Haven, The Leech Studios, Sarasota, The Manatee Art Association, Bradenton, FL, The Sarasota Art Association, and Women Creative Artists.

Her work has been displayed in the Island Gallery, Venice, Fl, The Moss Gallery, Port Charlotte, The Upham Gallery, St. Petersburg Beach, The Nuance Gallery, Tampa, and the Sea Grape Gallery, Punta Gorda,, Island Gallery West, Holmes Beach, Her work is in public and private collections throughout the United States, and England.
