Superb vintage European 'Grand Tour' photograph album, which includes scenes throughout Italy, circa 1875.

Vintage photograph album. Bound in full green blind-stamped and gilt decorated leather, by E. N. Pearce, London (with their binder's label in corner of first leaf. All edges gilt. Containing a total of approx. 61 original albumen photographs, mounted on recto and verso of thick card leaves. The majority of photographs showing views in Italy e.g. Firenze, Pisa, Rome, Naples, Sorrento and Amalfi. Most captioned in the negative, and many also with studio details (Brogi, Alinari, Frith and others). A few blank leaves scattered throughout and at rear. Size: album - approx. 30cm x 24.5cm / photographs - approx. 67 are of a large size e.g. 25.5cm x 20cm, to 21cm x 16cm, or a little larger or smaller. 

Very Good to Good condition. Binding a little worn, with upper hinge starting to pull, and with minor loss of leather to head and foot of spine. Corners rather rubbed. Some foxing and age-toning (mainly light) to a number of mounts. Photographs with generally good tones, with some occasional fading / age-toning.
