On offer is this extremely rare, pair of antique French matrice (steel die/moulds).
The base has the convex design - this one being the 'flaming grenade' (associated with the sapeurs-pompiers/firemen) and the words 'École Speciale Militaire' - whilst the top has the convex (opposite to the base).  Used to make buttons, the material (brass, copper, silver etc) would be left with a repousse version of the design.  When in place exactly, they sit together perfectly.
Nice and unusual decorative item / paperweight etc.
Total height of 8.3cm. Raw unpackaged weight of 450g, will be over 500g safely posted.
In excellent antique condition.  Please consider photos.
