An original lithographic print after highly regarded British artist John Piper (1903-1992).

One of a series of prints published by Penguin Prints in 1948 and sold for the princely sum of 6 shillings.

This is a view of Windsor Castle, with St George's Gate in the foreground, Henry lll's tower to the right and the Military Knights' Houses to the left.  John Piper's signature in the bottom right corner of the print.

I have opened it and can inform you that the print is still tab attached to the original back cover of the folder that it was issue in, the publication details and a list of the available images are printed verso. All the prints published were chosen by Kenneth Clark, Professor of Fine Art at Oxford Universtiy at that time. 

In excellent condition and well presented with a double card mount, (white below black above), within a gilt wood frame with black inner edging.  The mount is in good condition, some signs of age to the frame but it remains very presentable.

Glazed and ready to hang.

Measures 44 x 54cm including the frame, the image only is 26 x 34cm.
