THE ENCYCLOPEDIA OF PLAYING CARD FLOURISHES

The Encyclopedia of Playing Card Flourishes is the first of its kind.  This current, comprehensive treatment of fancy card manipulation will teach you everything from the Charlier Pass to juggling cards.  With 2,800 photographs and a wealth of informative accompanying instructions, this massive book will keep you busy for years.  The only reason you will put this 545-page text down is because it weighs 5 pounds.  Hardback, 8-1/2 x 11, lies flat for easy learning.

Jerry Cestkowski has been fascinated with spinning objects since he was too young to know better.  Taking up card flourishes at fourteen, he has been honing his craft for twenty-five years.  Now an inveterate fanatic, he is eminently qualified to write an encyclopedia of fancy stunts with cards.  He has developed an unparalleled knowledge of the subject both through exhaustive research and ceaseless hands-on experience.  Jerry has made it his mission to master, invent and describe as many good flourishes as possible.  He considers card flourishes a pure art form, and his goal is to advance the art.

Jerry has been doing pure XCM shows since the 1980's, and effortlessly eviscerated all comers in the first ever all-flourish competition in Las Vegas in 1996.  A veteran of thousands of performances for audiences large and small, he is also the most prolific inventor of non-magical moves and sequences ever, with hundreds of creations to his credit.    To date, no other practitioner of the art has come close to developing, mastering and presenting such a staggering variety of different material.  Jerry blends card manipulation with martial arts, Frisbee, and juggling in a style that is a far, far cry from the repetitive, narrowly focused sequences that are the stock in trade of the current crowd of compulsive cut conformists.

Encyclopedia of Playing Card Flourishes-Jerry Cestkowski

4-DVD Set

See the Flourishman perform every stunt in the book on this 4-DVD set and that's just for starters. Each stunt is executed as you see it and in the order it appears in the "Encyclopedia." Following every stunt is a performance tip, using that stunt as an example. For instance, you see the basic Charlier Pass, followed by a short sequence of Charlier Passes being performed with the hands crossed, and the title admonition to "Do Cuts with the Hands Crossed." There are dozens of different tips presented in this fashion.

You will see all the One-Hand Single Cuts in Chapter One, interlaced with invaluable performance tips. Then you see an eye-pleasing, accessible routine of nothing but One-Hand Cuts. This is repeated for the remainder of the book. There are also instructions for powdering cards, working in the deck and avoiding card-condition pitfalls.

Then there is one of the Flourishman's Signature routines of pure flourishes from every type and category. We guarantee you have never seen anything like it. See why the other guys have to rely on Sybil Cuts and ace productions. See why only Jerry is known as THE Flourishman. There are also some outtakes and madness.

This DVD set will tell you everything you need to know about angles of presentation, pace, rhythm etc and includes never-before published, no-edit routines to show you how to connect flourishes into riffs, riffs into runs, and runs into routines.
