The Last Supper, Jesus Large Italian Velvet Wall Hanging Tapestry 69x 48” Vtg

Extra large, about 69” x 48” suitable for dining room wall, bed coverlet, or any large area. This could even be used inside a church or parish. Bright vibrant colors are striking and I see little to no indication of fading.

Believed to be mid century.

Tag indicates made in Italy which by P & C, original authentic quality of velvet “the best known and wanted all over the world.”

Please review all photos as part of the description. Please note that there is significant damage to the edges of this piece. It appears it may have been bigger at one time and has lost some of the edge. Despite this, it is still an eye catching striking piece that stops people in their tracks upon first viewing.

Please note the closeup pic of Jesus—-it may appear stained, but is a fold in the velvet. When brushed with a hand, it disappears. This piece is sold as is, and no attempts to clean or freshen it have been made. It is our belief it would benefit it to be either professionally cleaned, or lightly freshened at home.

There is a fabric “loop” that may have been added after purchase to hold a wooden dowel which is how it was being displayed. The dowel will NOT be mailed to buyer, but is available if buyer chooses local pickup. The loop is attached to the tapestry and will remain, for the buyer to determine if they want to keep or remove.

This lovely piece is rare in such a large size! Pictures do not do it justice. Truly stunning in person.
