Beautiful impactite from thr world famous meteor crater Noerdlinger Ries in Germany. The Suevite was formed during an astoeroid impact 15 Ma years ago after the collapse of the impact plume. The white parts were rain drops of molten basement rock. The white parts are highly shock metamorphosed cristalline granits. The grey matrix is composed of pulverized rocks. The Ries crater Suevites are a perfect example for the power of asteroid impacts. The surface of the moon is covered with very similar rocks.
