This seldom seen vintage 1960's Cauny Submarine has a glossy black "T T" signed chapter ring dial that is in near pristine condition and the original tritium on the dial and hands, which remains fully intact and emits a faint, short-lived glow after being exposed to bright light, has aged gracefully.  The silver bezel, which shows wear and rotates bidirectionally, presents nicely.  There is a small chip at the base of the bezel which can be most clearly seen in picture 7.  This damage does not affect its ability to function as it should.  The chrome plated case shows honest wear and brassing.  The outer edge of the case back is stamped "WATERPROOF   ANTIMAGNETIC   STAINLESS STEEL BACK   SWISS MADE" with "CAUNY PRIMA" followed by "DE LUXE C,""CALENDARIO" AND "21 ATMOS" stamped in the center.  Between the lugs at 6 o'clock are the stamped numbers "1275."  While the integrity of the crystal appears to be intact it is heavily scratched with significant dust/debris on its underbelly.

The 17 jewels Swiss "CAUNY PRIMA" stamped FHF 81-2 manual wind movement with quickset date function is clean, keeps accurate time and the red date wheel rolls over at approximately 12 am.  The quickset date function works flawlessly by manually rolling over a new date and then moving the hour hand repeatedly between hours 20 and 24 until the desired date has been reached.  After winding the original Cauny signed non-screwdown crown 26 full revolutions the movement had a solid power reserve of approximately 43 hours.  Given that this watch is more than 50 years old and considering that the movement shows no signs of ever having been serviced (there are no visible watchmaker service markings on the inside of the case back or on the movement and the rubber case back gasket has deteriorated) a complete overhaul is long overdue and recommended.

This watch measures approximately 37 mm excluding the crown, approximately 40 mm including the crown and approximately 19 mm between the lugs.  Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 9 mm.  Including the crystal case thickness measures approximately 11.5 mm.  The black one keeper 19 mm Tropic strap w/INOX flared buckle shows minor wear with oxidation on the buckle

Given the vintage nature of this watch and considering that the movement has likely never been serviced a complete overhaul recommended.  As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch.  Vintage means old and while my personal belief is that old-school means better quality and workmanship, things can and do go wrong from time to time.  Any servicing costs going forward are your responsibility.
