***********The movement, which received a complete overhaul in July 2021, keeps accurate time over an approximate 43 hour power reserve period.  While no service paperwork will be provided my watchmaker's service marking is etched on the inside of the case back.***********

This vintage 1960's Bucherer Archimedes Super-Compressor is a truly special watch that presents better in person.  The seldom seen brushed royal blue "T SWISS MADE T" signed dial with powder blue accented inner rotating bezel is in lovely but not perfect condition as it shows some age-related wear.  The lume on the dial and hands, which remains fully intact and no longer glows after being exposed to bright light, has aged beautifully.  In my humble opinion the dial and patina couldn't be more pleasing.  The all stainless steel case shows honest wear with no visible signs of oxidation.  The outside of the case back is stamped with the Bucherer emblem followed by "1888" and "30.160."  The original domed crystal, which was polished during the recent service, shows minor imperfections.

While I normally show pictures of the movements of watches that I put up for sale my watchmaker cinched the case back on this watch too tight for me to remove.  The automatic movement, which received a complete overhaul in July 2021, keeps accurate time with the date wheel rolling over without issue at 12 am.  While no service paperwork will be provided my watchmaker's service marking is etched on the inside of the case back.  The semi-quickset date function works flawlessly by manually rolling over a new date and then moving the hour hand repeatedly between the 20.5 and 24 hour marks until the desired date has been reached.  After recently winding the sharply threaded, non-screwdown original "B" stamped lower cross-hatched crown 39 full revolutions the movement had an impressive power reserve of approximately 43 hours.  This crown winds buttery smooth.  The original "B" stamped upper cross-hatched crown moves the inner bezel bidirectionally, which works perfectly as it should.

This watch measures approximately 36 mm excluding the crown, approximately 40 mm including the crown and approximately 18 mm between the lugs.  Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the mid-case, is approximately 9 mm.  Including the crystal case thickness measures approximately 12 mm.  This watch comes on an all stainless steel "Kreisler Stelux" stamped bracelet that is in wonderful condition showing very little stretch.  With the clasp set on the loosest setting this bracelet is much too big on my approximate 6.5 inch wrist.  I guesstimate that it may comfortably fit up to a 7-7.25 inch wrist.

Although the movement keeps accurate time there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch.  Vintage means old and while my personal belief is that old-school means better quality and workmanship, things can and do go wrong from time to time.  Any servicing costs going forward are your responsibility.

Please thoroughly read this entire listing and kindly ask any and all questions you may have prior to buying as this sale is final and no refunds of any kind will be given.  And please study the 12 high magnification pictures carefully as they are part of the description and serve as an accurate representation of the condition of this watch.

Expedited and insured shipping along with signature confirmation will be provided.  Thanks for looking!
