***********The automatic movement runs about 6 minutes slow by the end of its approximate 38 hour power reserve period. Additionally the replacement crown winds with a bit of tension. Given these issues and considering the movement's unknown service history a complete overhaul is likely long overdue and recommended. Lastly this is a midsize watch, measuring approximately 33 mm excluding the crown, approximately 35.5 mm including the crown and approximately 19 mm between the lugs.***********

This seldom seen vintage 1970's Croton Aquamatic came from the estate of its original owner.  The matte black "T SWISS MADE T" signed dial is lovely (majority of the imperfections seen are on the crystal) and the original lume, which emits a faint, short-lived glow after being exposed to bright light, has aged gracefully.  Although nearly visually imperceptible in person the lume at 4 o'clock shows chipping.  Additionally the seconds hand shows some chipping to its reddish orange paint.  The midsize all stainless steel case shows honest wear with signs of oxidation.  The outer edge of the case back is stamped "ANTICHOC  -  STAINLESS STEEL  -  WATERRESISTANT  -  SWISS MADE" with "9G - 41486" and "10840" stamped along the inner edge.  The crystal shows scratching.

While I normally show pictures of the movements of watches I put up for sale the case back on this watch is torqued too tight for me to remove.  The automatic movement with quickset day and date functions runs strong, albeit slow, with both the day and date wheels rolling over at 12 am.  The quickset date function works flawlessly by pulling the crown out to the first position and then turning it clockwise until the desired date has been reached.  The quickset day function works in precisely the same manner with the exception of turning the crown counterclockwise.  The day wheel is in red with the date wheel being in black.  After recently winding the replacement, non-screwdown crown 39 full revolutions the movement lost about 6 minutes by the end of its approximate 38 hour power reserve period.  The crown winds with a bit of tension.  Given that the movement runs slow, the crown winds with tension and and considering the movement's unknown service history a complete overhaul is likely long overdue and recommended.

This watch measures approximately 33 mm excluding the crown, approximately 35.5 mm including the crown and approximately 19 mm between the lugs.  Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the mid-case, is approximately 9 mm.  Including the crystal thickness measures approximately 10.5 mm.

Given that the movement runs slow, the crown winds with tension and considering the movement's unknown service history a complete overhaul is recommended.  As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch.  Vintage means old and while my personal belief is that old-school means better quality and workmanship, things can and do go wrong from time to time.  Any servicing costs going forward are your responsibility.
