***********When setting the time and winding the non-screwdown crown the dial has a bit of wiggle to it. Given this and considering the movement's unknown service history a complete overhaul is likely long overdue and recommended.***********

This seldom seen vintage 1970's Crosby diver has a glossy black "FRANCE" signed dial that is in lovely but not perfect condition as it shows light age-related wear.  Please note that the water spotting and dust/debris seen is on the underbelly of the double-walled crystal, not the dial. If you closely examine the pictures you'll see the water spots moving around when viewed from the different angles.  The original lume, which has aged gracefully to a toasted buttermilk hue, remains fully intact and emits a faint, short-lived glow after being exposed to bright light.  The bezel, which shows wear and rotates bidirectionally with an appropriate amount of tension, presents nicely.  The chrome-plated case shows honest wear with minor signs of brassing.  The outer edge of the case back is stamped "FRANCE   BASE METAL BEZEL   STAINLESS STEEL BACK."  The crystal shows scratching as well water spotting and dust/debris on its underbelly.

While I normally show pictures of the movements of watches I put up for sale, the case back on this one is torqued too tight for me to remove.  The 17 jewels manual wind movement with semi-quickset date function runs strong and the date rolls over at approximately 12 am as it should.  The quickset date function works flawlessly by manually rolling over a new date and then moving the hour hand repeatedly between the 18.5 and 24 hour marks until the desired date has been reached.  After recently winding the sharply threaded crown 34 full revolutions the movement ran about a minute fast by the end of its impressive approximate 47 hour power reserve period.  The non-screwdown crown winds smoothly.  When setting the time and winding the crown the dial has a bit of wiggle to it.  Given this and considering the movement's unknown service history a complete overhaul is likely long overdue and recommended.

This watch measures approximately 35 mm excluding the crown, approximately 38.5 mm including the crown and approximately 19 mm between the lugs.  Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 9 mm.  With the crystal thickness measures approximately 11 mm.

Given that the dial wiggles a bit when setting the time and winding the crown and considering the movement's unknown service history a complete overhaul is recommended.  As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch.  Vintage means old and while my personal belief is that old-school means better quality and workmanship, things can and do go wrong from time to time.  Any servicing costs going forward are your responsibility.

Please thoroughly read this entire listing and kindly ask any and all questions you may have prior to buying as this sale is final and no refunds of any kind will be given.  And please study the 15 high magnification pictures carefully as they are part of the description and serve as an accurate representation of the condition of this watch.

Expedited and insured shipping along with signature confirmation will be provided.  Thanks for looking!
