***********The ETA-ESA 955.114 hacking quartz movement with quickset date function received a complete overhaul in the summer of 2022. It runs strong, keeps time to within specs (+-30 seconds per day) and the date wheel rolls over as it should. The hands have been relumed.***********

This seldom seen vintage 1980's Tourneau has a matte black "SWISS MADE" signed dial that is in lovely but not perfect condition as it shows hand drag and age-related wear.  The dial lume, which remains fully intact and no longer glows after being exposed to bright light, has aged beautifully.  The hands have been relumed in a buttermilk hue and emit a glow in darkness.  The faded blackish gray bezel, which shows wear and ratchets unidirectionally counterclockwise, presents nicely.  The black anodized all stainless steel Monnin case shows honest wear with no visible signs of oxidation.  The outer edge of the case back is stamped "STAINLESS STEEL   WATERRESISTANT   SWISS MADE" with "685451 N" stamped in the center.  The inside of the case back is stamped "TOURNEAU" followed by "BREVET + 503305,""M.R.P. SA" and "SWITZERLAND."  The crystal is nearly blemish free.

The 7 jewels unadjusted Swiss "TOURNEAU" signed ETA-ESA 955.114 hacking quartz controlled movement with quickset date function received a complete overhaul in the summer of 2022.  Although no service paperwork will be provided my watchmaker's service marking is etched on the inside of the case back.  It runs strong, keeps time to within specs (+-30 seconds per day) and the date wheel rolls over as it should.  The quickset date function works flawlessly by unscrewing the brassed, screwdown crown, pulling it out to the first position and then turning clockwise until the desired date has been reached.  The crown unscrews and screws back down perfectly as it should.

This watch measures approximately 37 mm excluding the crown, approximately 41 mm including the crown and approximately 18 mm between the lugs.  Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 9 mm.  The crystal adds no measurable thickness.  This watch comes on what appears to be its original, unsigned "100% STAINLESS STEEL" stamped PVD coated bracelet showing moderate stretchIt likely will not accommodate a greater than 5.5 inch wrist.  The clasp/buckle will need to be adjusted/repaired as it does not want to close securely.

Although the movement is currently running strong and working as it should there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch.  Vintage means old and while my personal belief is that old-school means better quality and workmanship, things can and do go wrong from time to time.  Any servicing costs going forward are your responsibility.

Please thoroughly read this entire listing and kindly ask any and all questions you may have prior to buying as this sale is final and no refunds of any kind will be given.  And please study the 20 high magnification pictures carefully as they are part of the description and serve as an accurate representation of the condition of this watch.

Expedited and insured shipping along with signature confirmation will be provided.  Thanks for looking!
