***********FOR PARTS/REPAIR - Although the manual wind movement keeps accurate time for much of the day at some point during the night the hands get stalled up resulting in the loss of about 15 minutes by the end of the movement's approximate 38 hour power reserve period. The date wheel rolls over perfectly as it should and the crown winds buttery smooth. Given that the movement loses time and considering its unknown service history a complete overhaul is required.***********

This vintage 1970's Orvin diver, which came from the estate of its original owner, has a glossy black "T SWISS MADE T" signed dial that is in lovely but not perfect condition as it shows wear and dust/debris on its surface.  The original lume, which remains fully intact and emits a quick burst glow after being exposed to bright light, has aged to a perfectly matching warm buttermilk hue.  The black bezel, which rotates bidirectionally with an appropriate amount of tension, presents beautifully.  The chrome-plated case shows honest wear with minor signs of brassing.  The outer edge of the case back is stamped "WATER + SHOCK RESISTANT   ANTIMAGNETIC   CHROMIUM PLATED BEZEL   STAINLESS STEEL BACK   SWISS."  The crystal should be replaced.

While I normally show pictures of the movements of watches I put up for sale I'm unable to remove the case back on this watch.  The manual wind movement with semi-quickset date function keeps accurate time for much of the day before the hands get stalled up at some point during the night and the date wheel rolls over at 12 am.  The semi-quickset date function works flawlessly by manually rolling over a new date and then moving the hour hand repeatedly between the 21 and 24 hour marks until the desired date is reached.  After recently winding the non-screwdown crown 23 full revolutions the movement lost about 15 minutes by the end of its approximate 38 hour power reserve period.  The crown winds buttery smooth.  Given that the movement loses time and considering its unknown service history a complete overhaul is required.

This watch measures approximately 36 mm without the crown, approximately 39.5 mm including the crown and approximately 20 mm between the lugs.  Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 8 mm.  Including the crystal thickness measures approximately 10 mm.

A complete overhaul is required.  As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch.  Vintage means old and while my personal belief is that old-school means better quality and workmanship, things can and do go wrong from time to time.  For this watch that time is now.  Any servicing costs going forward are your responsibility.

Please thoroughly read this entire listing and kindly ask any and all questions you may have prior to buying as this sale is final and no refunds of any kind will be given.  And please study the 13 high magnification pictures carefully as they are part of the description and serve as an accurate representation of the condition of this watch.

Expedited and insured shipping along with signature confirmation will be provided.  Thanks for looking!
