***********FOR PARTS/REPAIR - Although the ETA 2369 automatic movement runs briefly and the red date wheel rolls over as it should the seconds hand is loose. And as clearly seen in pictures 9 and 10 the insert is not nestled into the bezel correctly nor is the bezel lying flush with the mid-case. At a minimum a complete overhaul is required.***********

This seldom seen women's vintage 1960's Rado Captain Cook has an aged dial in which most of the lume has deteriorated.  The lume on the hands, which remains fully intact with the exception of a small hole in seconds hand and emits a faint, short-lived glow after being exposed to bright light, has aged gracefully.  The worn black insert is not nestled into the bezel correctly nor is the bezel lying flush with the mid-case.  The all stainless steel case shows honest wear.  The outer edge of the case back is stamped "SWISS PATENT   + NO 343842   SWISS   STAINLESS STEEL   TO OPEN" with "RADO" and "WATER-SEALED" stamped in the center.  The crystal needs to be replaced.

The 25 jewels Swiss "RADO TICIN CAPTAIN COOK" stamped ETA 2369 automatic movement with semi-quickset date function runs briefly and the red date wheel rolls over as it should.  However, as clearly seen in the pictures the seconds hand is loose.  The semi-quickset date function works flawlessly by manually rolling over a new date and then moving the hour hand repeatedly between the 21 and 24 hour marks until the desired date has been reached.  The original non-screwdown crown winds smoothly.  At a minimum a complete overhaul is required.

This watch measures approximately 30 mm excluding the crown, approximately 33 mm including the crown and approximately 16 mm between the lugs.  Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 9.5 mm.  Including the crystal thickness measures approximately 10.5 mm.  This watch comes on a stainless steel beads of rice bracelet that shows moderate stretch.  Set on the loosest clasp setting it'll likely accommodate up to an approximate 6.5 inch wrist.  The clasp snaps shut tight as does the flip lock.

At a minimum a complete overhaul is required.  As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch.  Vintage means old and while my personal belief is that old school means better quality and workmanship, things can and do go wrong from time to time.  For this watch that time is now.  Any restoration/servicing costs going forward are your responsibility.

Please thoroughly read this entire listing and kindly ask any and all questions you may have prior to buying as this sale is final and no refunds of any kind will be given.  And please study the 19 high magnification pictures carefully as they are part of the description and serve as an accurate representation of the condition of this watch.

Expedited and insured shipping along with signature confirmation will be provided.  Thanks for looking!
