***********The Cupillard 256 manual wind movement runs about 2 minutes fast by the end of its approximate 45 hour power reserve period. The bezel does not rotate likely due to gunk buildup underneath. Given that the movement runs a bit fast and considering its unknown service history a complete overhaul is likely long overdue and recommended.***********

This seldom seen vintage 1960's Louis diver, which came from the estate of its original owner, has a lovely glossy black "FRANCE" only signed dial.  Majority of the imperfections seen are on the crystal.  The lume, which emits a quick burst glow after being exposed to bright light, has aged gracefully.  As clearly seen in the pictures the lume on the minute hand shows cracking and there is a small hole in the seconds hand lume.  The heavily worn black bezel does not rotate likely due to gunk underneath.  The all stainless steel case shows honest wear with no visible signs of oxidation.  The outer edge of the case back is stamped "ALL STAINLESS STEEL - WATERPROOF - ANTIMAGNETIC" with "100% WATERPROOF" followed by "TESTED 20 ATMOSPHERES" and "514427."  The inside of the case back is stamped "LOUIS WATCH COMP   FRANCE."  The crystal needs to be replaced.

The 17 jewels unadjusted France "ANGUENOT FRERES" stamped Cupillard 256 manual wind movement that runs strong, albeit fast.  After recently winding the non-screwdown crown 33 full revolutions the movement gained about 2 minutes by the end of its approximate 45 hour power reserve period.  The crown winds smoothly.  Given that the movement runs a bit fast and considering its unknown service history a complete overhaul is likely long overdue and recommended.

This watch measures approximately 38 mm excluding the crown, approximately 40.5 mm including the crown and approximately 19 mm between the lugs.  Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 9 mm.  Including the crystal thickness measures approximately 11 mm.

A complete overhaul is recommended.  As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch.  Vintage means old and while my personal belief is that old-school means better quality and workmanship, things can and do go wrong from time to time.  Any servicing costs going forward are your responsibility.

Please thoroughly read this entire listing and kindly ask any and all questions you may have prior to buying as this sale is final and no refunds of any kind will be given.  And please study the 16 high magnification pictures carefully as they are part of the description and serve as an accurate representation of the condition of this watch.

Expedited and insured shipping along with signature confirmation will be provided.  Thanks for looking!
