***********FOR PARTS/REPAIR - The manual wind movement runs about 12 hours fast by the end of its approximate 28 hour power reserve period. The bezel insert is loose and will need to have adhesive applied to its underbelly to keep it firmly in place. A complete overhaul is required.***********

This seldom seen vintage 1975 Bulova Caravelle Devil Diver has under the heavily scratched/damaged crystal (with significant dust/debris on its underbelly) a near pristine black "P" signed dial.  Majority of the imperfections seen are on the crystal, not the dial. The lume, which emits a quick burst glow after being exposed to bright light, has aged gracefully.  The bezel rotates stiffly bidirectionally and the black insert, which is loose, shows significant wear.  Adhesive will need to be applied to its underbelly to keep it firmly in place.  The all stainless steel case shows honest wear with no visible signs of oxidation.  The outer edge of the case back is stamped "CARAVELLE   SHOCK RESISTANT   WATER-RESISTANT TO 666 FEET   STAINLESS STEEL   ANTIMAGNETIC" with "N5" stamped in the center.  The inside of the case back is stamped "3286-DP" followed by "CARAVELLE DIV,""B.W. CO." and "TAIWAN."  The crystal needs to be replaced.

The 17 jewels unadjusted "IIDP" and "N5" stamped manual wind movement runs significantly fast.  After recently winding the signed, non-screwdown crown 25 full revolutions the movement gained about 12 hours by the end of its approximate 28 hour power reserve period.  The crown winds smoothly.  A complete overhaul is required.

This watch measures approximately 36 mm excluding the crown, approximately 39.5 mm including the crown and approximately 19 mm between the lugs.  Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 8.5 mm.  Including the crystal thickness measures approximately 10.5 mm.

A complete overhaul is required.  As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch.  Vintage means old and while my personal belief is that old-school means better quality and workmanship, things can and do go wrong from time to time.  For this watch that time is now.  Any servicing costs going forward are your responsibility.

Please thoroughly read this entire listing and kindly ask any and all questions you may have prior to buying as this sale is final and no refunds of any kind will be given.  And please study the 23 high magnification pictures carefully, which were taken in natural light and from various angles, as they are part of the description and serve as an accurate representation of the condition of this watch.

Expedited and insured shipping along with signature confirmation will be provided.  Thanks for looking!
