***********FOR PARTS/REPAIR - Although the Otero 792 keeps accurate time and the date wheel rolls over as it should the oscillating weight and or a part under it are loose. Given this a complete overhaul is required.***********

This seldom seen vintage 1970's Gawa diver has a glossy black dial that is in lovely but not perfect condition as it shows light wear.  The lume, which remains fully intact and emits a quick burst glow after being exposed to bright light, has aged gracefully to a buttermilk/subtle pistachio hue.  The black countdown bezel, which shows wear and rotates a bit stiffly bidirectionally, presents nicely with the toasted butterscotch lume pip complementing the dial and patina beautifully.  The all stainless steel case shows honest wear with no visible signs of oxidation.  The outer edge of the case back is stamped "ALL STAINLESS - STEEL - ANTIMAGNETIC" with "100%" followed by "WATERPROOF TESTED" and "20 ATMOSPHERES" stamped in the center.  The crystal needs to be replaced.

The 25 jewels patented Otero 792 stamped automatic movement with semi-quickset date function keeps accurate time and the date wheel rolls over at 12 am.  However, the oscillating weight and or a part under it are loose.  The semi-quickset date function works flawlessly by manually rolling over a new date and then moving the hour hand repeatedly between the 20.5 and 24 hour marks until the desired date has been reached.  In testing the movement on a few occasions it ran for approximately 37 hours over the first power reserve period after winding the crown 39 full revolutions.  On the second observation period it stopped after approximately 11 hours.  The non-screwdown crown winds with an appropriate amount of tension.  A complete overhaul is required.

This watch measures approximately 37 mm excluding the crown, approximately 40.5 mm including the crown and approximately 19 mm between the lugs.  Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 9.5 mm.  Including the crystal thickness measures approximately 11 mm.

A complete overhaul is required.  As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch.  Vintage means old and while my personal belief is that old school means better quality and workmanship, things can and do go wrong from time to time.  For this watch that time is now.  Any servicing costs going forward are your responsibility.

Please thoroughly read this entire listing and kindly ask any and all questions you may have prior to buying as this sale is final and no refunds of any kind will be given.  And please study the 24 high magnification pictures carefully as they are part of the description and serve as an accurate representation of the condition of this watch.

Expedited and insured shipping along with signature confirmation will be provided.  Thanks for looking!
