A Fantastic pair of bookends with HAND tooled leather in an Italian Florentine Sea Scroll pattern done with genuine gold detailing, depicting curved horns (Or big wave) in very heavily leaded prismatic crystal. I have used them for at least 40+years. The quality of the crystal AND the leather tooling are front and center. They are stunningly handsome, and NEVER out of style. The measurements are: 4" front width x 3.5" front to back and 5" tall. The are weighted purely by the crystal. The bases are felted. Maker's mark; Aurthur Hertzberg & Craftsman. Circa 1950-60.
Because the crystal is thick and heavily leaded, when placed on a desk that lets the light through, they amplify the light. Very handsome in a large bookcase. They look great separated and used on different shelves.
Condition: Minor wear on the corners of leather, a chip on edge of the crystal. You can turn the chipped piece so it faces the rear/back and will not be seen. Please take a peek at my eBay store for other fine vintage (downsizing) and new fine jewelry. Thank you for looking.
