ITEM DESCRIPTION
Today we are pleased to offer this nicely preserved volume on the Mexican American War!
A great find from a local New England estate!
This scarce antique volume is over 141 years old!
1st Edition. Ex-library.
A rare volume to find in any condition! Original publisher cloth binding shows wear as pictured, including a library sticker pasted to the front board, a library catalog sticker pasted to the spine, some rubbing and soiling to the boards and spine, general wear around the extremities including bumping to the corners and spine extremes, and rubbing, soiling and spotting to the page edges. Otherwise this is an attractive, well-preserved antique volume! The gilt title lettering on the spine displays nicely from the shelf.
Internally, this volume is in good shape overall. Some repair work has been done to the inner-hinge with tape. Volume is sturdy and square. As such, both boards and all page groupings remain firmly attached to the binding. This is an ex-library volume with bookplates and library markings visible to the front and rear endpapers and fly pages, as well as the title page and copyright page. Otherwise this volume is clean and free from signatures and inscriptions.
The text block of this volume is clean throughout. There are a handful of pages with some underlining and markings in the margin in pencil. There’s also a single page with a slight edge tear that has been repaired with tape. Other wear includes typical age-related toning to the pages, as well as light foxing and soiling scattered throughout, but otherwise this volume is clean and readable throughout!
Nicely illustrated and includes a folding map of the United States in back. Make sure to see the additional photos in the description below for complete details.
328 pages.
Measures approximately 7 1/2 inches tall by 5 1/4 inches wide by 1 1/2 inches thick.
