In nice condition overall! Original publisher cloth binding shows some wear, including a library sticker pasted to the front board, a library catalog sticker pasted to the spine, rubbing and soiling to the boards and spine, general wear around the extremities including bumping to the corners and spine extremes, and some soiling to the page edges. Otherwise this is an attractive, well-preserved antique volume!
Internally, this volume is in good shape overall. Both boards remain attached to the binding. The page groupings containing the frontispiece illustration up to the copyright page is detached; likewise, a grouping of pages (67-94) is loosely attached to the binding. Otherwise the other groupings are secure. This is an ex-library volume with bookplates and library markings visible to the front and rear endpapers and fly pages, as well as the title page and copyright page. Otherwise this volume is clean and free from signatures and inscriptions.
The text block of this volume is clean throughout. There is typical age-related toning to the pages, as well as light foxing and soiling scattered throughout, and some light general edge wear. Again, pages 67-94 are loosely attached to the binding. Otherwise this volume is clean and free from rips, tears, writing and markings. Perfectly readable throughout!
