ITEM DESCRIPTION

Today we are pleased to offer this nicely preserved volume on the Holy Land!

A great find from a local New England estate!

This scarce antique first edition is over 167 years old!

1st Edition.  Ex-library.

In good condition overall!  Original publisher cloth binding shows wear for age as pictured, including rubbing and soiling to the boards and spine, wear to the joints, general wear around the extremities including bumping to the corners and spine extremes, and rubbing and soiling to the page edges.  Volume is moderately cocked as well.  Otherwise this is an attractive, well-preserved antique volume!  The title lettering on the spine still displays nicely from the shelf despite wear.

Internally, this volume is in good shape as well.  Both boards and all page groupings remain attached to the binding, though there is wear to the inner hinge visible at the title page, and wear to the rear hinge.  The inner hinge appears to have a repair done with tape, again visible at the title page.  Also note that this is an ex-library volume with bookplates and library markings visible to the front and rear endpapers and fly pages, as well as the title page and copyright page.  Otherwise this volume is clean and free from signatures and inscriptions.

The text block of this volume is clean overall.  There is typical age-related toning to the pages, as well as foxing and soiling scattered throughout, and a few instances of staining in the margin caused by early exposure to moisture, as well as some general light edge wear, but otherwise this volume is clean and free from rips, tears, writing and markings.  Perfectly readable throughout!

Nicely illustrated with engravings.  Make sure to see the additional photographs in the description below for a thorough look through this antique tome.

498 pages with a single page of publisher advertisements in back.

Measures approximately 8 inches tall by 5 1/2 inches wide by 1 1/2 inches thick.

A perfect addition to any fine collection or a wonderful gift for someone special!
