  • The Savanna RX-7 (SA22C) was introduced in March 1978. It was popular for its shocking style with retractable headlights, and its packaging was well thought out as a sports car with a low centre of gravity for enhanced mobility, taking advantage of the compact and lightweight features of the rotary engine. In the USA, it attracted attention as a base car for motorsports and was entered in the IMSA series from 1979. In its debut race, the 24 Hours of Daytona, it left a brilliant track record, winning the GTU class and finishing fifth overall, and it quickly attracted the attention of American motorsport fans.
    The kit reproduces the winning car, car No. 7 driven by the Rotary Three Musketeers, Yoshimi Katayama, Takashi Yudono and Yojiro Terada.
