This is a wonderful original 1950s vintage opaline glass pendant ceiling light, complete with wiring, brass gallery and bulb holder and brass ceiling cup. 

The glass hangs like a handkerchief and is white on the inside and mottled blue on the outside with the most charming little line drawings of buildings, one a watermill and another looks like a little chateau. There's a floral design around the building pictures and they are coloured in in red, yellow and blue. 

It has the word Tchécoslovaquie marked on the top, which is French for Czechoslovakia. So it must have been made in what is now the Czech Republic (or possibly Slovakia) but it was made for the french market.

An adorable vintage lighting solution, it would look wonderful in any vintage style room. An ideal gift for anyone with a love of 1950s design and it could be a great prop for any production set in the mid 20th Century.

In EXCELLENT vintage condition. There are no chips or cracks to the glass shade and the brass only shows minor signs of age. As you can see it is currently in working order but as you will need either a professional electrician or a confident DIYer to fix it in your desired location, it will be up to them to get it working there. 0It is designed to be used with a European 220/240 volt domestic power circuit, so if you are from a country with 120 volt mains (like USA for example) it might need a simple rewire, check with your fitter. Please see ALL photos and remember it is at least 60 years old and has been used in the past.
