Beautiful find! This 1920s reproduction of a renaissance ceiling tile was made in Valencia, Spain. It measures 11” x 5.75” x 2”. A soccarat is a fired clay tile covered in white and then decorated. They were originally used in the Middle Ages as a decoration between beams and joists in the eves of buildings. There was a surge of reproduction of these in the 2930s in Valencia Spain. Condition is good for its age. It does have cracks or crazing in the finish and damage to the corners probably from being installed and then salvaged. It definitely has wear that adds to its character and charm. Their is a signature on the side but I have not been able to identify the signature. Please inspect photos for condition.
