Nutley, New Jersey - No plaything, this scale model of an Air force B-47 is an important work thing for Engineer F. W. Iden at Nutley, New Jersey. The instrument crammed model is mounted on a low roof at the International Telephone and Telegraph Corporation Laboratories in a research project to enable real planes to outwit enemy radar and fire control devices. The copper clad replica's responses to electrical impulses from the "Dish" antenna in background help the ITT Scientists to develop the "electronic umbrella" to protect bombers in combat. Photo measures 7 x 9.25 inches. Photo Is dated 1959.
