A rare collection of papers by members of the Ricovrati Academy in Padua, of which Galileo Galilei was one of the founding members. The academy did not publish a journal, but opted instead for occasional printed compendiums. The academy is today located  in Carraresi Palace. Ricovrati translates into English as 'sheltered ones' and the academy's shield reflects this, showing the image of a cave sheltered by an olive tree.
