1985 G.I. JOE COBRA DREADNOK TORCH

He has tight joints, some paint wear and paint rubs, New O-ring and no screw rust.

Appearance: brown hair, sideburns, and mustache; red headband; black sunglasses, spiked collar, and open vest with two vertical chains on sides; skull necklace - still white with little wear; dark grey right armband and gloves; light blue jeans with dark grey holsters and boots; silver chain belt and boots.

Accessories: Original silver fuel-tank backpack with hole for cord; original style BLACK instead of silver cutting torch and cord and included a tight modern Barbeque silver bladed fireman axe weapon, the 1987 COMIC IMAGES trading card #28 is near mint and is great for display. Subject was remanded to Borstal [Reform school] at age fourteen. Escaped and went to sea in the Merchant Marine where he learned the use of the cutting torch.
Torch is an illiterate, unrepentant thug whose penchant for sudden and unexpected violence is matched only by the utter depth of his stupidity.
Specialty and M.O.: Works with Oxy-Acetylene torch as a general cutter mostly on remodeling stolen cars and occasional safe crackings. Scavenges the swamps for fun and profit.

Tom was always a problem child - never paying attention in school, and usually being a troublemaker when he bothered to show up. He was remanded to the Borstal reform school when he was but fourteen, and continued to apply himself towards not learning anything whatsoever.

He did like motorcycles, though. For a time, he rode with the Melbourne Maulers M.C., but they didn't let him hang with them for long. Something about him being too much of a powder keg caused them to ditch poor Tom, but he wasn't meant to be a loner, oh no. He was collected by Zartan soon enough. This 'zen cosmic biker hit man', recently deranged after losing the inner peace he'd always strived for, was on a criminal rampage - and needed thugs just like Tom. Along with two other bikers, Tom comprised the original trio of Dreadnoks, though this group would become much larger in time.

Having had dealings with the terrorist organization known as Cobra, Zartan wound up working for them time and time again over the next dozen or so years, and brought Tom and the Dreadnoks with him. Sure, Cobra has much more effective soldiers than the likes of Tom, but they needed Zartan's abilities. So, Cobra had to put up with the lot of Zartan's many cronies. Over time, Zartan's brother and sister, Zandar and Zarana, took to managing the gaggle of biker thugs in Cobra's employ for Zartan, and Tom wound up in a group of the Dreadnoks managed by Zandar for a time. At least, he was until Cobra broke up back in '94 due to a massive military strike.

This freed the Dreadnoks up to go their own way, and as Zartan had been turned freshly 'evil' by Doctor Mindbender recently, he was more than willing to apply his considerable intelligence towards the enhancement of the Dreadnoks into a vast, nationwide criminal empire, a veritable army of biker thugs. As this took place, though, Tom had perfected his own, unique alcoholic beverage, and began to brew it under the auspices of his own company. His drink, 'Uncle Winkin's Hard Grape Soda', was an instant hit, and the Dreadnok found himself rolling in money by the time it had established itself.

This hasn't deterred him from riding with his fellow Dreadnoks still, however. Whether or not they're tied up in some hare-brained scheme of Cobra's or engaging in mayhem of their own accord, Tom still sees the Dreadnoks as his one and only family...!
