ITEM DESCRIPTION

Today we are pleased to offer this nicely preserved volume by Agnes Smith Lewis and Margaret Dunlop Gibson!

A great find from a local New England estate!

This scarce antique volume is over 131 years old!

First Edition.  Ex-library.

In nice condition overall!  Original publisher cloth binding shows wear as pictured, including a library sticker pasted to the front board, a library catalog sticker pasted to the spine, rubbing and soiling to the boards and spine, general wear around the extremities including bumping to the corners and spine extremes, and some soiling to the page edges.  Volume is just ever so slightly cocked.  Otherwise this is an attractive, well-preserved antique volume!

Internally, this volume is in good shape overall.  There is a bit of cracking to the front hinge, however both boards and all page groupings remain firmly attached to the binding.  This is an ex-library volume with bookplates and library markings visible to the front and rear endpapers and fly pages, as well as the title page and copyright page.  Otherwise this volume is clean and free from signatures and inscriptions.

The text block of this volume is very clean throughout.  There is typical age-related toning to the pages, as well as some light foxing and soiling scattered throughout, but otherwise this volume is clean and free from rips, tears, writing and markings.  Perfectly readable throughout!

Nicely illustrated.  Make sure to see the photographs above for complete details.

141 pages with an additional page of publisher advertisements in back.

Measures approximately 7 3/4 inches tall by 5 1/2 inches wide by 3/4 inch thick.

A perfect addition to any fine collection or a wonderful gift for someone special!
