An original watercolour painting by Nepalese artist CBS Dangal, one of the famous Dangol dynesty of painters who specialise in depictions of the birds of Nepal.  One of a two works by this artist I am listing for sale, shown together in the final photograph above.

 

This depicts the Rufous Treepie, a member of the crow family and native to the Indian subcontinent. Shown here perched on the branch of a tree with snow capped mountain peaks visible beyond.

Signed and dated lower right 'C.B.S. Dangol 1994 Nepal'.

Painted on paper and in excellent original condition.

Well presented with a double card mount, gold beneath, cream above. Within a gilt wood frame.  The mount is in excellent condition, the frame is vintage and has signs of age but remains very presentable.

Glazed and ready to hang.

Measures 49 x 38cm including the frame, the visible painting only is 35 x 24.5cm.
