Unusual feather for the discerning crafter. Ocellated cock bred with a red bourbon hen. You probably have never seen any of these before.

I
was horrified this to receive a surprise negative feedback for “Feathers
where very bland nowhere as colorful or full as pictured”. I use specialized
photographic equipment (5000ºK white balance from multiple sources) to capture
the unique beauty of these feathers for the creative people who use them,
mostly artists and fly tyers. The feathers look different depending on the
light source and direction of the light. The posted pictures show the optimal
beauty as best as I can capture it. Basically trying to make this as much of an
“in person” purchase as I can. This is appreciated by my faithful customers so
they know exactly what they are buying. In the past 10 years I have sold
thousands of these types of feathers without a single buyer feeling they were
fooled by the pictures. I can understand someone who is not familiar with
iridescent feathers thinking the one they got was not like the picture because
they were not in good light. That is out of my control, but leaving a negative
without giving me a chance to remedy the issue is pretty harsh. So i’m putting
this flag in all the iridescent listings as a precaution to new buyers, hoping
to minimize future occurrences of misunderstanding.
