This listing is for a 5 piece sterling silver tea & coffee service made by Reed & Barton in the Pointed Antique pattern. Pieces included are the coffee pot, tea pot, cream jug, covered sugar bowl, and waste bowl. This pattern originated with Dominick and Haff and was continued by Reed & Barton when they acquired Dominick & Haff in 1928. All pieces have a conjoined, 3 letter monogram "MHM" and it is hallmarked on the underside of all of the pieces with the old Reed & Barton hallmark (two birds on either side of an R), Sterling, 750/87and V (for 1942). All items have 1103/87 on the bottom.
Coffee Pot: 9 1/2" tall, 10" spout to handle, holds 3 pints, 28.44 troy ounces.
Tea Pot: 8 1/2" tall, 9 3/4" spout to handle, holds 2 1/2 pints, 25.48 troy ounces
Covered Sugar Bowl: 6 1/2" tall, 6 3/4" handle to handle, 15.19 troy ounces
Cream Jug: 5 1/4" tall, 5 1/4" spout to handle, 9.17 troy ounces
Waste Bowl: 4 1/2" tall, 4" in diameter at the widest, 10.65 troy ounces (has the old Dominick & Haff mark + 1103/87).
Total Weight: 88.93 troy ounces. .
Very good condition with no distracting dings or dents. I polished everything a while ago but they could use a more thorough polishing. The insulators on the coffee and tea pots are tight and all of the pieces sit level on a flat surface with no wobbles. This set does not look like it was used much.
