Vintage Photo - from the estate of W. Bruce Van Deusen, student of Drew University in the late 1960's.  This is not a press release photo, I believe it may have been used in the yearbook for the university.

May Day (May 1st) 1970 in New Haven came just 4 days before National Guardsmen killed four students at Kent State.  A huge protest was gathered on the New Haven Green on the Yale Old Campus, in protest of the trial of Bobby Seale, Black Panther, arrested for murder of Black Panther Alex Rackley.

"Photos, which illustrate May Day at Yale, 1970, show banners and placards with messages to get out of Trinidad as well as Vietnam.  They also said to Free the Black Panthers and to stop Killing Animals."

Measures approximately:  4.5" x 6.5"
