Silicon Valley is a show that gains popularity for mocking the start-up culture. It follows the lives of six engineers-Richard Hendricks, Erlich Bachman, Nelson Bighetti, Bertram Gilfoyle, Dinesh Chugtai and Jared Dunn. They work for a company called "Pied Piper." The highlight of the show is when Richard comes up with the idea of an app that can serve as a "Shazam" for food called "SeeFood." The plan is to take a picture of food using the app to identify it and its calorie content. The app ultimately fails, but the guys go through a lot of adventures while making and pitching it, including convincing a company to give up their registered name. While pitching to investors, they lay down the entire menu served at "Burger King" to convince them to invest in their start-up.
