This is an antique Arts & Crafts or Art Nouveau cast bronze door knocker.

It tends to overlap both of these eras. I would estimate it dates circa 1890s–1910s.

Including the mount, the overall piece measures 9 inches tall x 8 inches wide (22.8 cm, 20.3 cm). At the knocker’s widest point at the bottom, it measures 1 3/4 inches thick (4.4 cm). The mount measures 2 1/2 inches x 2 1/2 inches (6.3 cm).

What stands out most about this door knocker is its wonderful presence. It has an incredible look about it.

The overall piece has developed a beautiful patina. I am sensing though that the darker side was the exterior and the lighter side was the back. You could use it either way though and it would still look great.

There is scattered green/blue tarnishing throughout. On the dark side in the upper left corner, there is what looks like a small old dab of glue of all things. There is a small area with tiny scratches on it. The mount is bent inward a little on both the top and the bottom exterior. Not really that big a deal though, given the incredible look of this piece.

The screw in the back is made of iron.

It weighs just under 8 lbs. 11 oz. (3.93 kg).
