Publisher Description

Belle's busy baking day turned into chaos when Goat chewed up the rolls. Mouse tried to bring order to Belle's country kitchen by running around and squeaking "Stop! Now everythings messed!" He then had a clever suggestion for Belle, and she changed her baking day plan. Baking Day at Belle's is a rhyming picture book about friendship, speaking up when you want to be heard, creative problem solving, and including everyone. A fun horse biscuit recipe is included. Share the joy of baking and your pet love. Beta readers have likened Tarja Nevala's literary style to British author Julia Donaldson and Australian author Mem Fox.

Author Biography

Tarja Nevala was born in Finland and raised on three continents. She has lived in Finland, Australia, Canada, and the USA. Her colorful life and rich heritage have developed her style as a children's picture book writer, while a wide range of personal interests add depth to her stories. Tarja writes of real-life situations with humor, imagination, and delightful surprise. Within Tarja's childhood home, old family stories were shared, celebrated, and retold countless times. The ancient art of oral storytelling was alive and contributed to her love of telling tales. She believes a child begins their journey into the world of literacy by hearing a spoken language. Oral story telling is an important part of this journey, and children's picture books contribute in a big way. Tarja is happy her books can be a part of a child's learning and reading experience. Tarja gives a big "thank you" to her large family and many friends who encourage her to write. She extends a special "thank you" to one certain English teacher in college, who suggested Tarja create stories. The Pacific Inland Northwest in the USA is Tarja's home. She loves anything cinnamon and everything caramel. She loves to bake, tend her garden, and take long walks. Her most favorite walk was the Camino de Santiago (The Way of the Stars), a 500-mile ancient pilgrim route from the French side of the Pyrenees Mountains to the city of Santiago in northwest Spain. Being genuinely "you" is important to Tarja. She celebrates all the children of our amazing world and wishes to tell them tales that delight their ears, hearts, and minds. Krystal Kramer's art journey came to life in 2017 when her husband joined the US Air Force. After working as an accountant for 15 years, she was looking for something new and flexible with constant moves. She started painting as therapy to pass the time, and fell in love with her new medium. Krystal is a self-taught artist with great appreciation for nature in all forms. She loves her art and how she has grown as an artist. Born in Astoria, OR and raised in Tampa, FL she chose the name Coast To Coast Artist as her business name. It is a perfect fit. Maria Lowe was a voracious reader as a child, enjoying weekly visits to the local public library where she would borrow piles of books at a time. Later in life, she brought that love of reading to her university studies in English literature and subsequently became an elementary school teacher. Following a stint as editor-in-chief at a marketing agency, she became a freelance editor and stay-at-home mom. Nowadays she enjoys encouraging her young son's love of books and stories.
