This is an antique, solid wood walking cane/stick. I believe it is an army ‘pacing stick’ or ‘swagger stick’. Age unknown, but I believe this belonged to someone a generation or two before my grandfather (my grandfather was born in the 20s and this was part of his collection). This has been up in my attic for at least 20 odd years. I have suggested ‘Victorian’ in my listing title but I am uncertain.

I believe the top is either solid silver or silver plate. I cannot see a hallmark. The design is very detailed and intricate, featuring two natives in jungle/ rainforest type scene. It may be depicting India or Africa which may suggest it was made or used there, but again, I just don’t know for certain. The bottom is tipped in metal (silver?) too.

Features a crest with initials on it - presumably the original owner. I think it is ‘R M P’ (see photos). This MAY stand for ‘Royal Military Police’, but it is more likely that it the initials of the original owner.

36 inches long. See photos for condition. Some minor dents to topper. The wooden stem is in very good condition for its age, I’d say.
