Beautiful Made In Japan hand painted cup and saucer. On an aqua blue ground painted with graceful white Swans/Geese in flight from perhaps a marsh with brown undergrowth and raised gold gilt flowers, stems and leaves. A gold gilt beaded band decorates the rim of the cup with larger plum and turquoise colored beads. This theme/decoration is repeated on the saucer. Gold paint decorates the handle. Marked on the reverse of the saucer only  in green and red Hand Painted, Made In Japan, this mark was used from 1921-1941. An elegant, wonderfully painted cup and saucer will display beautifully.

Saucer measures 5 1/2" in diameter.

Cup measures 3 3/4" in diameter x 2" tall.

Good antique vintage condition to commensurate with age and use. No chips or cracks. There is some rubbing of the gold gilt at the beaded rim of the cup and saucer( mostly the cup), and some rubbing on the raised gilt flowers on the saucer. There are 2 places on the saucer rim where a gilt bead is missing.  See last 7 photos.
