This is a genuine WW2 Red Cross apron which has been used - originally size 34/35"

Made from stiff white cotton - two large plastic buttons on reverse of bib and two plastic buttons on waistband

Apron is 'A' line shaped & bib is also shaped using sewn in darts

Apron skirt is 26" long approx

There are minor signs of ageing to fabric (photo 7)  - front bib is in good condition with bright red cross

This belonged to one of my relatives - who decided to make another apron (currently on eBay) bigger at waist so she removed the section of the waistband which has the buttonholes (photos 8 & 9) - the repair work can be seen on last two photos - a little sad as this apron is in better condition (less ageing to fabric and cross much brighter)
This apron could easily be mended as it is quite large - the centre back panels could be reduced in width and the excess fabric could be used to extend/repair the waistband. I am happy to do this for extra charge; I estimate that it will take 2 to 3 hours to repair.

It was certainly a case of make do and mend!
